Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, also known as Ari Lennox, a Washington, D.C.-based American singer/songwriter, was signed as Dreamville Records' debut female singer for Dreamville Records by J. Cole. Her first EP, Pho on October 21 2016, was released on Dreamville Records. She began to gain fame. Shea Butter Baby is her debut album. It came out on May 19, 2019. Ari Lennox has released her music online since 2012, with the release of her first mixtape "Five Finger Discount" and her EP Ariography. In 2014, she released more music via the Internet including Bound. In the year 2015, she performed in Omen's Elephant Eyes Album on Sweat released on the 21st of July. J. Cole, who was part of the Dreamville crew at that time and wanted her to work on Rihanna reference. On December 8 it was confirmed that she had been officially signed by Dreamville Records. Backseat, a track she sang alongside Cozz on her Revenge of the Dreamers II collaborative album. On October 21, 2016 the EP Pho debuted. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change track and also opened with the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. in 2018, the singer-songwriter guested on two tracks featuring EarthGang On Nothing but the Best, as well as Bas, on Icarus. On July 16 2018 Ari Lennox released the first single Whipped Cream of her album debut Shea Butter Baby with an accompanying music video that was released on the 5th of September. In November, she released her singles 40 Shades of Choke & Grampa. Two singles more were released by her on 11/13 with the titles Pedigree and One. Shea Butter Baby is a track she sang alongside Cole for Creed II's soundtrack on the 16th of November. It was then released as a single on its own in February of 2019 to coincide with the release of her debut album. The music video premiered on February 20, 2019 to accompany the track. Within the first period of a week, the video had more than 3 million views. The singer was a supporting artist for 6LACK on the From East Atlanta With Love Tour in December 2018.
